Steps for Enrollment
Jeffco Virtual Academy is a multi-district online school and may accept students from across the state of Colorado, regardless of their home school district. All applications must be submitted via EnrollJeffco. Note: An application is a request for space and does not guarantee enrollment.
Choose Your Path
You may only apply for one enrollment type. You cannot be both full-time (taking a full schedule of classes) and part-time (taking one or two classes) at JVA.
Option 1: Full-Time Enrollment (i.e. JVA will be your 'home school' and / or you go to Warren Tech)
For students new to Jeffco, returning after a gap, or transferring fully to JVA. Note: Students must live in the state of Colorado to attend.
- Step 1: Complete the APP and Upload Documents to EnrollJeffco.
- Current Jeffco Students: You must upload a new Proof of Residency (POR). This is a state requirement for all online students every year and is required annually.
- New Students / Gap in Enrollment Students: Upload all standard Jeffco enrollment documents to your EnrollJeffco account.
- Step 2: Review
- JVA reviews applications weekly based on eligibility and space.
- Step 3: Accept Offer
- Offers are sent via EnrollJeffco. You have 3 days to accept. Expired offers will require a new application.
- Step 4: Online Registration (OLR)
- New / Gap in Enrollment students only: After accepting your offer, you will receive a link for Online Registration (OLR). This must be reviewed and approved by JVA staff to finalize your enrollment.
Option 2: Part-Time Enrollment
For students currently enrolled at another Jeffco school who wish to take a maximum of two JVA classes. If you do not see the class you are looking for then it is probably not being offered for part-time students this year.
- Eligibility: You must have a primary enrollment at another Jeffco Public School.
- The Process:
- Complete the App in EnrollJeffco: Ensure all fields (Counselor name, Student ID, and School) are filled. Incomplete applications cannot be processed.
- Counselor Review: JVA sends your request to your home school counselor for approval.
- Availability: If approved by your counselor, JVA will review seat availability.
- Accept Offer: Offers are sent via EnrollJeffco. You have 3 days to accept before the offer expires. If it expires, you must re-apply.
Next Steps
Once your offer is accepted and all paperwork is finalized, you will receive a "Next Steps" email from:
- Full-Time Students: Your JVA Counselor.
- Part-Time Students: The JVA Program Coordinator.
Students Traveling Outside the Country
If you are planning to take JVA classes while traveling outside of the country you will need a VPN. Please see this information for details.
