Jeffco Virtual Academy offers a wide range of Visual Arts courses for elective credits in Middle School and High School. Whether your student has been involved and interested in art for years or is brand new to the art world, JVA has courses that fit your needs!
We currently offer classes in the following subjects: Middle School Art Exploration, High School Beginning and Intermediate 2D art, High School Beginning and Intermediate Painting and High School Digital Photography courses.
The courses are designed to be completed from the comfort of your own home or dedicated workspace. While supplies are provided for our intermediate courses as well as Beginning Painting, our other courses can be accomplished using simple materials such as pencils, pens, cell phone cameras and markers.
Our art courses are designed to build technical abilities within the selected course. Depending on the class, students learn a wide range of skills and gain useful information such as how to effectively analyze art, figure drawing, art history, camera operation, as well as the elements of art and principles of design just to name a few. Along with the above skills, Visual Art courses at JVA give students an opportunity to creatively express themselves and gain confidence through the art-making process.
