College Credit Opportunities
Concurrent Enrollment is a state program that allows high school students in grades 9-12 the opportunity to earn tuition-free college credit through Arapahoe Community College or Red Rocks Community College for high school courses they are currently taking at <insert name> High School. In order to be eligible, the student must be scheduled into an approved concurrent enrollment course. Students receive both high school credit and college credit when taking concurrent enrollment classes. Concurrent Enrollment courses may be canceled if there is low student interest and enrollment.
To earn college credit students must follow registration deadlines and complete the college application online, authorize or apply for COF, meet all prerequisites for the course and submit the Concurrent Enrollment Agreement (CEA), which will be provided by the teacher at the beginning of the course. These grades will be transcripted on both the Jeffco and the Community College transcripts. If a student wishes to transfer Concurrent Enrollment credit to another college, they must contact the college where they earned credit and request an official transcript.
It is the responsibility of the student to check with the college which they are interested in attending after high school graduation to verify how credit will transfer. Students and families can also create a free Transferology account to see where any college credit courses they take will transfer (including AP and IB).
